Members of the Resident Council conduct community outreach.

The Board of Directors includes Alameda business leaders, community leaders and prominent human services executives. The Board is diverse in income, ethnicity, and gender.

The Resident Council is comprised of seven members two alternates, all APC residents. The Council conducts community outreach and education, and participates in all levels of decision-making.

APC Staff are diverse, energetic and skilled in their jobs. Many of the staff are local Alameda residents, and they bring with them a desire to make lasting improvements in their own community.

The Community Garden Committee is made up of residents, neighbors, APC staff, and representatives from the Golden Gate Audubon Society and the BASE charter school. Committee members set policy for the garden, allocate plots, and organize work parties

The Ploughshares Nursery Advisory Board is guiding APC on the development of a commercial native and organic plant nursery. In 2003, the Advisory Board assisted APC in the preparation of a business plan that was entered in a national competition sponsored by the Yale School of Management. The Ploughshares Nursery placed in the top 20 nationwide, out of more than 500 plans submitted.
